Our Partnership with Mainfreight

At Foundation Coffee, we know that every business is unique and so are the people who keep it running. That’s why we work closely with our partners to understand not just their coffee needs, but their workplace culture, pace, and daily rituals. From the layout of their spaces to the way their teams interact, every detail shapes how coffee fits into their day. Our goal is simple: to deliver a coffee solution that fuels productivity, supports connection, and aligns with each business’s values.

When we partnered with Mainfreight, New Zealand’s global logistics powerhouse, we set out to create a coffee setup that could match the speed and energy of their Railway Lane site. We spent time understanding how their people work, the flow of their day, and the role coffee plays in keeping operations moving.

The result was two high-volume, fully customised machines tailored to the unique spaces on site. These machines now power through an average of 300 hot drinks every day, ensuring Mainfreight’s team stays fuelled without compromising on quality or consistency.

But this partnership wasn’t just about keeping up with demand, it was also about making smarter, more sustainable choices. By switching to milk powder-operated machines, Mainfreight will save around $15,000 annually and remove at least 20 plastic milk bottles a day from their waste stream, which is more than 7,000 bottles every year. Their sustainability commitment goes even further with on-site worm farms that process all coffee grinds and organic waste, turning it into nutrient-rich compost.
